I am also going through diabetic retinopathy for last 1.5 years. I can feel you Serena. And I know it ruins one physically outside and mentally inside. May God bless us. Take love ❤

I’m not sure why poor control of diabetes was emphasized with what causes retinopathy. Even people with extremely well controlled diabetes get diabetic retinopathy. My A1c for the past 8 years have stayed between 5.2 and 5.6 and I just got told I have it. y’all need to stop emphasizing that uncontrolled diabetes is the main cause of it. Just being diabetic can cause it at any age. when you continuously emphasize that it’s because of lack of control it makes people feel ashamed and like they’re doing something wrong, even though they’re taking really good care of their diabetes and blood sugars.
