Friedrich Nietzsche: The Übermensch

Friedrich Nietzsche's theory of the "Übermensch" (overman/superman) is about the evolution of mankind towards something greater but it is not merely guesswork. Instead, the philosophical idea is to actively move towards becoming an Übermensch. However, when you first encounter the idea of a superhuman, then you might get a wrong idea of what he actually means...

Since you're German yourself, what would you say is the most accurate English translation of the word ubermensch?

I realised I am not a Superman when I started focusing on the Doggo behinf and not Benjamin 😅

Could the ubermench have peers? Are you my peer? How about us among the community? What a strange and powerful phenomenon to contemplate and emulate the virtues of the ubermench, a pure power. Both pure in intention for all beings and also complete power which only God or the ubermench could tune into.

Your German accent makes me want to study German. If you don't listen to Kraftwerk, I'll be disappointed.

Ahh the infamous "übermensch"; Nazis were so obsessed with this concept along with American Eugenism.
Glad this horror period is behind us ☺

Nietzsche took the wrong path, and became a man of philosophy based on his own thoughts.
Sounds just like all the people today.

This reminds me of a recent speech I listened to by a rabbi (though I am not Jewish). He said that if you re happy being content then you are no different than a cow. I thought that it was funny at first but in retrospect he is right. One should have gratitude but should never be content (I had a hard time seeing the difference between those) and I think that's what Nietzsche tried to explain with the last man.
Great video like usual! Keep up the good work! :)
