It's not so much the diffuculty of defending her, as it is dealing with the most difficult defendant ever. They won't want to be told how to do their job, or hear her tell them how much smarter she thinks she is.

Good lawyers do not accept imposing defenses from defendants, especially if they are not credible or sustainable against the quantum of proof. Defendants sometimes want to impose even legal strategies, which is unacceptable to serious and competent lawyers, and Sarah Boone is such a client. This defendant has really made a bigger fool of herself than that recruitment advertisement.

I practice civil law and can't believe there were 4 through 9 attorneys. Disagreements and conflicts happen, but radar is up for a potential client issue after one firing. After 2nd firing- massive client issue blip on the radar, handle with care. After 3rd firing- Houston, We have a Problem! Don't touch the case! It may be more common with criminal cases to have turnover in representation. I wonder if the judge did a little arm twisting amongst the local attorneys to try to make sure all options representation options exhausted.
