This is why you should check which people are selling the products. I was checking out a sapphire nitro+ 7900 gre which was being sold by Sapphire but when i clicked it, those same people were selling cookies and rings too.

When the place getting the return Don’t VERIFY the return just racks it as a “new”. Yea I have complained ALOT about getting “new” items with security tape cut or removed. I have bounced a lot of charges from my bank and then magically they get really interested in getting their wrong stuff back.

This is why I only stick to the best sites for parts like overclockers. Over 300 orders made, no issues.

Its nearly impossible to get those type of issue disputed, there is a time that consumer is scaming the merchant by pretending that the item was send to them incorrectly by just adding a random item and pretending that its the merchant fault.
The best solution here is to buy it from an authorised seller cause they usually check the item in the warehouse before delivering it to the consumer.

Youre not wrong. I ordered a 7700x and asus b650 motherboard bundle. Recieved a b550. Had to send it back and get my money back and order yhe right one. Delayed my build by 4 weeks.

What I do when I buy open box stuff at Best Buy is ask to open it while still at the store with an employee. If it’s missing anything they are there to see and can rectify or will tell you they can’t do anything

Send an guy (official to companies or vendors)to check if the product is true while returning

Fortunately over the last 5+ years of building and selling computers ive never had this happen but it’s still insane that people are willing to do this. Dont ruin it for everyone else just because you want to be cheap

Same thing happened to me with my motherboard, got the amd motherboard instead of the z390-e

the step being missed is the vendor paying someone to open the box. they've done the math and they figured out it's cheaper to do it this way. they would rather accept whatever return than pay an entire employee to check each one

I was sent a used and broken Gigabyte B650m board when I ordered a new one recently for my first build. The CPU pins were destroyed, it was all scratched up, and it was covered in thermal paste. Cost me $200. 🤦

I paid £100 for hyperx cloud revolver S on Amazon and I got sent the none S version that was the down grade and then they tried to fight it with me but got the return but I didn't get the £13 back I paid for a postage and packaging and it stated they would refund it and I know its only £13 but they state that they will cover it so I'll keep fighting it
