Buskin' in Galway City

I passed this busker on Shop Street in Galway City during the summer and he happened to be singing one of my favourite songs of all time - 'Babylon' by David Gray. He very generously let me jump in half way through on harmonies. Actually, he had no choice because I very cheekily jumped in before he knew it.

I'm not a fan of these "talent shows" for obvious reasons but once in a while, they do shine a light on some of our worlds socioeconomic problems, including homelessness. The crazy thing is that there are currently thousands of newly built houses all across Ireland completely unused. I'm one of the lucky many to have a roof over my head but I remember growing up knowing how dangerously close we were to being the unfortunate few.

Wouldn't it be great if you could wave a magic wand and suddenly all of our worlds problems would disappear, but we know it's not that simple and that problems such as homelessness are merely the consequences of a deeper lying issue in our society. Anyways, something to think about, I suppose.
