Galway Girl - Sharon Shannon, Mundy & Galway City

The biggest ever street performance of Steve Earle's "Galway Girl" took place on June 11th, 2016 in Galway, Ireland.

A record breaking number of over 15 000 people came along to take part in the performance.

Sharon Shannon, Mundy, We Banjo 3, Amazing Apples, Roisin Seoighe, Lackagh Comhaltas, Galway Rose Rosie Burke and thousands of other artists and supporters were among them.

Visited Ireland for two weeks in 2015. Loved the people, the land and the music. I felt I had returned home. Spent some time in Galway City. This makes me want to go back. I love that part of me has roots in Ireland. My mother's maiden name was Dwier. This song is now on a loop in my head. My daughter is a dark haired, blue-eyed girl. Her Irish friend tells her that her face is a map of Ireland.
