Do I sound jaded? OK cool. I'm also discouraged, disappointed, and a more than a little miffed that a 3.5 year long project comes down to whether or not an algorithm picks it up.
Regarding the service itself: put new music back at the top of the app when I open it. Get podcasts out of there. Let me have more control over what I see when I first start up the app. Make it easier for me to explore genres and find new music myself. And make feedback easier to submit.
I realize this rant is not going to help me in any way, but I know I can't be alone in feeling this way.

If y'all are thinking of pitching your first ever song through distrokid, this won't work. I'm currently attempting to connect to my spotify artist profile without distrokid, and asking spotify support if they will allow me to pitch an upcoming track without having had a previous release. I'll keep you posted on the results.
