It wouldn't have lasted even a minute, i m sure because when someone sits on the chair resting his back, the pressure is quite big for the hot glue. Which it can't withstand.

There is a small inexpensive torch lighter that could come in handy for you so the lighter don't pop. Is it the heat temp that bongs the glue stick better. Like the way you demonstrate it to all unbelievers.❣️

Why not use the heat to just fuse the plastic back together. Hot glue dries out and comes apart. You could also use an electric tie as a fuse. I wouldn’t trust the hot glue.

The real test is to put a fat uncle in this chair and feed him with alcohol over time. I will guess the chair breakes down.

Did you make the gas burner or buy it? Also there is one thing you can add to reinforce it...use a piece of hose clamp strap heat red hot and press into the plastic first so it goes through grooves. Then smear the penetrated plastic over the clamp.

If not using the gun you might just as well melt the plastic chair, then weld the two bits together.

You csn use glue gun instead of melting like this. Moreover this will not lastlong because when pressure is on chair it will cracks again. This is not a strong adhesive.
