Wow. What an awesome video. This is probably the best instructional video I've seen on Youtube. Clear, precise, thorough, professional, and thoughtful. Thanks for the help.

Wish I could give you two thumbs up. I'm not a repair man, and not mechanically inclined. Wife wanted a new washer $400 this weekend on sale. Found your video, tore the washing machine apart (15 mins), found a little black sock (wife's!). Ordered the part online for $7.50. Took me less than 30 mins to put back together. 30 seconds to record it working and sending the text to wife. 15 minutes of drinking a beer with the money we saved. THANK YOU!!

Very true! We also don’t have a curious toddler, barking dog, mountain of dirty laundry, dim lighting or a cramped closet to work in. Our technicians never had it so good!

outstanding ! I never knew how easy it was to take the body off and access everything. I was able to diagnose the problem as the pump; then get the part and replace it. Of course the pump had leaked on the shaft too long and the rust had it cemented in place. My big Saws All took care of that. Cut that pump up into several pieces and chiseled it off. Then cleaned up the shaft with my Dremel. Testing a load now; all is looking good ! Thanks Repair Clinic !

Thank you! I did some research on various sites after our Kenmore Elite (model 110.24962300, which has the same pump shown in this video) suddenly stopped working during a spin cycle, and most symptoms pointed to checking the water pump: there was a slight humming sound but no movement or draining, and the dial still worked (i.e., it could add water to the tub).

This video made it clear how to access and remove the pump, which was very useful (especially the note to put a towel underneath when disconnecting the hoses - we also had a wet-dry vac on hand to snarf up the excess). For us, it turned out that a small sock had become lodged in the pump's inner wheel. I removed the sock, reinstalled per the video and everything works again. Not bad for a 14 year-old washer.

We didn't need to use your site for a new part in this case, but will keep you bookmarked for any future appliance part needs.

Awesome! My wife washed a pair of running shoes and six of the 12 molded stripes on the side were gone after the load ran and the washer had a whirring sound when running. Was able to remove the pump and see the piece of rubber stuck in the pump. Removed it and reassembled the washer and blamo - quiet again! Thanks a ton for this video!

This was easy thanks to this video. I wish I would have watched this before I tore the back of my washer off, feel dumb for that, but I was able to redeem myself by putting all back together, then follow the video to correctly take it apart and then I was able to easily see that one of my daughters tiny socks had the pump all jammed up. Pulled it out and back to doing laundry. Thanks for saving me the 130 bucks! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!

Great video that made my repair much easier than going it alone. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate individuals that post “how-to” videos on YouTube.

Thank you SO MUCH for this video! It was the absolute best one I could find on YouTube to help me do this on my own 😊

My 20 year old washer that I refuse to give up doesn’t drip anymore 🎉

This video is still helpful 12 years later. My pump wasn't clogged but I've ordered a new one.

This was my first repair so after I purchased the water pump from RepairClinic.com(resisted the temptation to buy a cheap aftermarket pump off EBAY) I watched the video a few times and was ready.  It only took me about 20 minutes to complete and now the leak is gone and I saved a lot of money.
Thank you Repair Clinic.  If I ever have to do another repair I know where to go for both parts and great instructional videos.

I just want to say thank you for this very clear video. I saved over $200 repairing this myself and it was super easy! I did not remove the front of the washer completely, I just set it on the floor and climbed in to do the repair. I am very proud of myself for fixing the drain pump! Couldn't have done it without your help.

Yes sir I did this myself !! this was incredible easy; unbelieveable. However, it wasn't my waterpump, Although I now have a new one. It was my spin-switch. But I watched repair clinic to replace it too, and it was even easier then the waterpump! ..sigh.. makes me feel ALMOST sorry for the repair man. Im one happy gal... thx sooo much.

Very good video for a Kenmore Series 80, 1999 washing machine.

Mine would not drain, so we removed clothes and put them in 5 gallon buckets and drained the machine by hand.

Be ready for a lot of water to come out of the lower small hose on the pump housing even after draining the machine with buckets and towels. I was not ready and ended up with a lot of water on the floor, which had to be sponged and toweled up off of a tiled floor. Once I got the hose back on the pump with tons of water trying to come out, I got a small container that would fit there and would pull hose off the pump, empty water into container and once container was full, slip hose back on pump to stop the flow. Emptied container into 5 gallon bucket. Did this many times and ended up with around 2 gallon of water and much more on the floor. So be ready for lots of water at the hose connection even after emptying the washer by hand with buckets and towels.

Turned out my pump assembly had no obstructions and the impellers turned just fine.

Next step check the Lid switch and sure enough no continuity thru the switch. Removed the switch and the switch was cracking open when pushing the tab down. I noticed if I squeezed it closed so crack would not open when pushing the tab, I got continuity. I first taped it so it would not open and then put two small wires around the taped up switch which I twisted with pliers to be very tight. I then reinstalled the switch and tested for continuity several times by opening and closing the lid. had continuity everytime.

Reassembled and it worked great. Washing machine draining and spin draining fine now. Ordered new Lid switch for back up, incase my fixed Lid switch with tape and twisted wires fails.

I have not read previous comments so I imagine I'm no doubt repeating what has already been said many times.  This video was perfect for helping a do-it-yourself person tackle this reasonably easy fix without worrying about harming other parts of the machine.  So often it is not the replacing of the part that is difficult but instead knowing what part to replace.  Thank you tremendously.

My Kenmore Model # 11025842400 seems to be the same model shown in this video. Had a stuck kids sock in my drain pump. Glad I checked before I ordered the replacement pump. Took me a full hour start to finish, had to finagle the cabinet back on for 20 minutes. I had to raise the front legs a little to get the front of the cabinet under the lip of the base frame, then it was easy going. Thanks Repairclinic.com!

Thanks you for this video. I was able to unclog my pump and reinstall it. The washer housing isn't just heavy; it is sharp and can cut your hands. I'd recommend watching the housing replacement part of this video a couple of times before attempting anything.

I would recommend checking out the repair help section of our website (link in the description). If you input your model number there and select "won't drain" you'll see a list of parts that may cause your washer to not drain. All of the other parts are testable. I would check those out before replacing the drain pump.
