Guys, I was wrong! And like @Godmode_ON24 and some other users said, the best way to use LukeFZ's mode in games with DLSS Frame Generation is to REPLACE DLSS FG with FSR3 FG, That way you won't have the HUD shimmering and you can use the upscaler you want! Already tested CP2077 and Witcher 3 and both work that way and is MUCH better! Will do a follow up video on this!
You use the .toml file the game creates (as shown in Palworld) and if the game supports DLSS FG you change the default option by the replace dlss_fg one

This was a requested video of course, and in case you're in doubt, YES, this mod also works with NVIDIA cards, even the GTX ones :D

Software can do wonders if supported by community
-modded drivers saving AMD older gpus
-fsr2 injection into any game losslessscaling
-fsr3 injection into any game using lukefz or afmf etc
Mind you these software are provided by AmD for free and that’s what I like about amd

If you use the replace_dlss_fg mode (not sure what it's called in the installer), then the UI will work correctly in games with native DLSS 3 implementations (no artifacting or shimmering) and you can use native upscalers like FSR, XESS or TAA (select those in game, not DLSS). It also works with DLSS upscaling for RTX cards. This works great in The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 from the games I've tested so far.

You can also significantly reduce the input lag (about 50% less total system latency with FG) if you cap your fps using the in game frame limiter so that your gpu usage stays below 95%. So if your gpu gets about 130 fps with frame gen on, you want to cap to about 60 fps with the in game limiter so that you get 120 fps with frame gen at 95% gpu usage at 99% of the gameplay.

On GTX and RTX cards, reflex works with the replace_dlss_fg mode, so you should use that instead of capping your fps whenever it is available. Maybe reflex works correctly with the default mode too, I'm not sure if it's exclusive to the replace_dlss_fg mode or not.

AFAIK with the default mode, selecting the native FSR, XESS or TAA upscalers just duplicates the frames instead of generating new ones, which is why it doesn't feel smooth. On the contrary, using the replace_dlss_fg mode makes it work correctly with the native upscalers as if it was implemented natively into the game as it just replaces the FG part of DLSS 3 with the FG part of FSR 3 in the streamline pipeline.

You can find a list of games the mode works with as well as the optimal mod settings for each game here:

It is also possible to get this mod for free from reddit if you google it...

I agree CDPR screwed the pooch when it comes to FSR in the last couple of patches and need to fix it. But I will wait for them to implement FSR3 and just continue using AFMF till then

Had a muck around also with the FSR 3 Mod not long ago. Worked in Cyberpunk, Hogwarts & Alan Wake 2. Had Ghosting and UI it was lukes mod but performance gains were great! Not surprised about CD PROJEKT RED making FSR worse, pretty sure they just cater for Nvidia. FSR has more shimmering in this game compared to other games. I bet they are one of the last Devs to implement FSR 3 into the game as well. Starfield are placing FSR 3 into the game so going to carry on playing that next week!

Oh funny I already have a FSR3 FG Mod for Palworld. What i think you're using for Palworld is LukeFZ mod? Which is commonly known for shimmering and UI glitching. I've been using Puredark which is similar but fixes the UI glitching and provides a similar performance game to LukeFZ. 5700xt and i went from 30-60 (cos the game hates me) to over 100 - 165 in some cases. Hope this helps!

try comparing this with Lossless Scaling's frame gen with same fps if possible

I might be doing something different but in Cyberpunk I have actually no UI issues with the mod. I have to check later because I am doubting myself, but it works perfectly without drawbacks. My system specs are 7900xtx with 7700x, 32g DDR5, Windows 11.

Another patch of cyberpunk 2077...another patch without fsr3...I have no words

Makes me mad that the mod is behind a paywall still, I can play skyrim with over 2, 500 mods with a mod installer tool and not have to pay a dime, and I would pay a small fee for that because it's an all in one package with 500gigs of mods, but this is one mod shouldn't be behind a paywall.. especially since AMD dropped the SDK for free...Devs honestly should be adding it themselves to all the games already, and new games not releasing with it is also frustrating a few new games recently dropped with FSR2 only.

Cyberpunk you need to change default to replace fg at config file. Then all shimmering is gone. In fact CP2077 is the best LukeFZ mod implementation for me.

I can't believe CD Project Red still haven't added FSR3 to Cyberpunk themselves.

The amd cards are great value for money really, its just a little software implementation and bam! they perform and look Fantastic, great video showing how its done, Thanks for taking the time to explain, since i upgraded to amd graphics a few weeks ago your videos have helped me to gain a better understanding of them, i already have an amd cpu and have learned how to tune it using pbo2 with undervolting and found using less negative voltage on your cpu `s prefered cores or most commonly used cores works well, the rest of the cores that are not so commonly used i have more negative on them, the results suprised me and it is 100% stable in any task or situation, if amd could do this with their gpus as well it would be great, although i havent tried undervolting my 7800x yet as it seems very capable so far. 😀👍

You use AMD a lot right. Any reason my custom resolutions are stretching when I have Preserve Aspect Ratio enabled?

I want Black Bars. Tried disabling GPU Scaling and also tried per game settings.

Trying to run a 21:9 resolution and it stretches the game no matter what. Uninstalled and Reinstalled drivers with DDU in safemode and it still stretches games.

My GTX 1660 Super and GTX 1050 TI can run these same resolutions on the same games without stretching the game (I.E allows the black bars). Just tested all 3 cards today.

Googled but can't find a fix to stop AMD from stretching custom resolutions in games only thing is Windowed Mode but that is a deal breaker👎🚫.

Nice vid! The UI shimmering in TW3 could be the wrong FSR version you extracted. TW3 is supposed to use FSR 200 instead of FSR 220, as shown in the video.
