Parliament pays tribute to Bercow as tearful speaker chairs last PMQs

Tributes poured in for the speaker of the House of Commons as he held his last PMQs on Wednesday before officially stepping down from his role on Thursday. Boris Johnson, Jeremy Corbyn and Jo Swinson were among the many who thanked John Bercow for his service since 2009. A tearful Bercow thanked MPs for the tributes and praised his family ‘for the support, stoicism and fortitude’

I have admired John Bercow  for many years for the way he shares his vast knowledge of Parliamentary procedure and also his unfailing use of the use of the English language. I also wish to thank him for the role he played in leading the UK Youth Parliament ( something no one has yet mentioned) Although I do not come from the same country as he, I DO wish him well in his retirement. Such a person will be very difficult to replace
