Regarding the 'no HVAC hard buttons' - In my current Volvo I control the cabin environment, radio, and most navigation using voice commands making buttons irrelevant. I anticipate being able to use voice commands for the cabin environment in the newly ordered Volvo when it arrives. I do not understand why reviewers omit any discussion of voice command capability. Voice commands allow you to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

Enjoyed your video. Here's the fix to temperature control. Just press the voice button and say "Hey, Google, change the temperature to __".

If you upgrade to the Polestar tune, throttle response and shifting becomes way more aggressive and fast.

If you want that jump when you step on the gas pedal, select “dynamic” as the drive mode. The default is “comfort” which is exactly what it does, comfortable and not quick off the mark.
I have the T6, 316 hp with 295 lbs. torque, supercharged and turbocharged. When in “dynamic”, I can take most regular daily driver around. Just be careful because it will run you into the guy in front when you’re not used to it.

I've owned a volvo for 3 years. It drives well. Everything that I want to improve is the back seat. I want it to recline so that I can sit more comfortably

For temperature change in car, press the voice control, say I’m hot or I’m cold or set temperature .

I love the 2 tone steering wheel, I just wipe mines down when I clean the seats & wash the xc60. I love the ivory interior…… almost every other suv in America has black interior 😢.

This review was soooo spot on! I recently purchased this model and found the exact same love/hate items. I would like to add that I wish the trunk was more intuitive when using the foot/open close function. The keys have to be with you, and I have to swing my foot way too many times. Also, the screen needs to power down mid-trip too often, which turns off the entire system until rebooted, When using navigation, I find it both scary and aggravating to have to reboot while driving.

Thanks for the vid! I do agree on the gearbox downshift lag when being aggressive on the throttle. As for the long beams not being in full auto mode every time you jump in the car, my guess is it’s a law abiding thing: at least in my country and other European neighbors I’ve driven at, long beams can’t be used inside town areas… so no matter how dark the street is, you can’t use long beams… so i guess they left it up to the driver do decide whether that area you’re driving at is suitable for such lighting on your car or not… as a Spanish driver, I do prefer the long beams to be off unless I need (and can) use them :)

ugh, so so disappointed in the Google car tech (and I am an Android user). Too many things tied to the center console working so if the computer is out, 90% of what you use including AC is out. Thats a huge dealbreaker for me smh. I want a Functional car, not an overly techy and digitally computer dependant car. More room for glitches.

I had 2013 XC60 R design in electric silver. Loved it.

I am an owner of already 4-th Volvo (V40CC, XC40, S90 and XC60 T8 now) and I can say with confidence, if you want to feel real Volvo driving experience you should install Polestar Optimization package at the moment of purchase. This will completely change your perception of driving Volvo and responsiveness of the car.

1. It's not Android related, android doesnt have such menus.
2. It more secure than ever as you dont need to press anything. Everytthing works with voice
3. We dont care about iphone, :)
4. Console is just right and comfy, no need to carry an elephant there. The battery is underneath.
5. Change house or request for more lights in your street.
6. Why did you choose blonde theme, White details get dirty. smart people doesnt get white details.
7. Get a full electric if you dont like the sound. Though sounds are always relative to different ears.
8. Dont go for a B5 take a T6

Cheers

I have this exact car as a rental right now. I agree about the climate controls but overall, this is one nice ride.

Some reflections, and it might have to do with the trim levels of the car, but… I have a 2023 XC. I can keep the auto headlights on when i start the car the next day, and you can adjust the temperature and seat heating using the buttons on the display—you don’t need to bring up the main view for temperature. I’m an Apple user and I’ve just installed the apps in the car, and they work really well. I think many of the issues you're having are due to a lack of familiarity. Have you gone through all the settings you can adjust in the car?
If you set the light control to auto before starting the car, then activate the automatic high beams and switch back to auto, you won’t need to do this again. The high beam automation will be set as default.

Just say “Hey Google do this do that…” This works for temperature, heated seats, steering wheel, Google Maps, Radio, Phone… no need to go into the screen, best part of the Volvo product! You can also control other Google smart devices connected to the same Google account like the Nest in your house for heating or house alarm systems, all from the car…

I completely agree about the interior color especially on the steering wheel. I’ve owned mine for almost 5yrs and around yr 3 the steering got really disgusting no matter how I clean it. The seatbelts also get pretty dirty too. Can’t wait to upgrade with black interior

I have the exact some Aisin transmission in my Peugeot 3008 2021. It's possible to select a driving mode (eco/normal/sport) for your current needs. In "sport" mode the small 3 cylinder 1.2 petrol turbo engine is acting agressive with high RPM-s and immidate accelarator reactor. I am pretty sure Volvo also has some similiar solution to your complain.
