3 Reasons To AVOID 2022 Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 has long sat at the top of the full-size pickup truck segment. Its capability is unrivaled, boasting the highest towing and payload ratings of any full-size light-duty truck. A fuel-efficient hybrid is available, and the new electric F-150 Lightning (reviewed separately) hits showrooms this spring. The choices continue with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, three bed lengths, and three cab configurations. The competition is fierce from popular alternatives such as the Ram 1500, which has a smoother ride and more attractive interior, and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with its multifunction tailgate. There's also the Toyota Tundra if you're looking for similar features at a lower price. The Ford F-150 holds the title of best-selling full-size truck largely due to its multiple trims, wide range of configurations, and high tow rating. It doesn't ride as smoothly as some rivals, but the F-150 is still a top contender among pickups.

I don’t buy this one bit! Must be Ford haters. I’m on my 4th F-150 and only problem I’ve had on 1 was the mass air flow sensor which was a super cheap and easy fix. I am in love with my new 2022 F-150 V8. It feels very smooth compared to previous generations. It’s the most fun truck I’ve ever driven. Ford nailed it with the new generation. My buddy has a 2021 Ram Laramie Longhorn and I would NEVER trade mine for his. If anything, Ram has the worst reliability reputation out there along with the UGLY Titan.

My brother surveys large game, predators, and indicator species. He spends most of his time in trucks on dangerous mountain terrain. He chooses the ford over any other pickup because they have never left him stranded.

The ride description is completely OPPOSITE of nearly every review on YouTube. I have never trusted CR.

At the end of the day, it's an F-150, which means it will sell and sell. . .

I’ve had 2005 w 5.4, 2015 5.0 and the 2022 with 5.0 engine. The 05’ did have minor issues after 11 years. My 15’ was an excellent truck and hated to trade up. This 22’ has the best ride. Maybe CR didn’t get their payoff to give a good review? lol In all seriousness, I absolutely love this model and after 8k miles, it makes me feel better about trading my 2015 in. I’ve owned a Dodge and will never buy one again. I’ve had a Chevy too. After a few years, things started to rattle and squeak. Drives you nuts. Good luck with whatever brand you buy.

Rams are great when you buy them. Ask owners how happy they are 18-24 months later.

I have a 2021 F150 limited hybrid I have put 65k on. Lots of freeway driving it’s very comfortable. I am 62 with surgically repaired hip and back and most vehicles I can only do about 2-3 hours before my leg is numb, back hurts and I need a break. I easily drive 12+ hours in the F150 towing or not and my body feels fine, so I am fine with the ride. Not had a mechanical issue yet. Milage is great, I couldn’t be happier.

I have a 2022 Platinum and it’s my best ride yet. Worked my whole life and no regrets spending the money.

I have a 2016 F150 crew cab 4x4 2.7. It's been the best truck I have ever owned. Before the 6"lift I was getting 18-22 in the city and 27 on the highway. After 20k miles on it, I was going to get rape by the IRS for 27K for taxes. So instead of me giving that money to the IRS, I decided to make it my full time work truck as an electrical and mechanical contractor. I did a 6" pro comp stage 2 lift, 35" tires, 4:56 gears, Highway products truck cap, Deck tool box, front and rear Fab four bumper, Firestone air compressor and tow close to 10K on a weekly basis, the most was shy of 12K. I am right around 122K, get around 16-18 city and 20-22 hwy.

First off. I don’t want a car like ride in a pickup. Second, I’ve owned every brand through our construction company. What I’ve found is consumer reports is nearly worthless. Yes we subscribe and keep their magazine in our office. But I’m about done hoping their reviews or opinions would be in line with what I and my company has experienced.

It’s seems that every non truck owning car loving reviewer is always striving to make the pickup more like an ElCamino.

I have a 2018 XLT and it's been reliable through 90k. sounds like someone over at CR has a personal beef with the blue oval. By the way, I have a few friends that have Rams and GMC's that have had to have engine and transmission replacements. On another note - How can any one person tell what reliability any vehicle will have, when they have not had time to put them through the paces over time?

Consumer reports...huh! Truck buyers don't pay Consumer Reports any attention...if you doubt that, just see which pickup tops the sales charts AGAIN for the 2022 model year. I am not in the market for a new truck...but if I were...it would probably be the F150...despite what Consumer Reports says.

I had a 2014 F150 with the 3.5 eco boost engine. I loved it, and the gas mileage wasn’t bad

I'm still going for Ford over any other brand of trucks, I've had a 99 xlt, 2003 lariat, 2010 lariat, and my current is a 2017 lariat, I've never had any issues with any of them

Do what I did. Install a BDS 6" coilover lift kit with Fox reservoir shocks. Rides far better than stock. If I was to push people away from this truck, it would be customer service. If I paid the same $80, 000 for a BMW I'd get gold standard customer service. I absolutely hate their customer service. Hey Ford, how about taking care of the customers who helped you stay in business for so many years.
