What solved this for me was to click the “Reboot Gateway” button on my router settings, under the Wifi tab.

I fixed this issue on a note 8 by matching the DHCP numbers to another phone I have on the same wifi signal. Why it suddenly decided to change is beyond me though lol.

when i try connecting to a network that`s when i encounter authentication error, it will be obtaining IP and all of a sudden authentication error
