When textbooks say that, they compare nitrogen to other molecules like H2, O2, Cl2, etc.
Textbooks also tell you that if two different atoms are bound together, that one of them pulls stronger on the bonding electrons, weakening the bond and polarizing the molecule. And that additional groups also affect how strong a bond is.
A triple bond is stronger than the equivalent single or double bond.

I think a good short idea is an explanation of why anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide are added to commercial table salt instead of just pure sodium chloride for example.

CO, N2H+ and N2H2(2+) are the only molecules or ions AFAIK that have a stronger bond than N2's triple bond.
