Sindri Gives Atreus Better Advice Than Young Kratos - God of War Ragnarok

A thing worth appreciating here is that the behavior of Sindri isn't compromised by this scenario. He's still a germaphobe and is hesitant to put his hand on Atreus' shoulder to comfort him. And afterwards, the animators made sure to keep a shot of Sindri removing that same glove before he leaves the scene.

Even in the presence of discomfort, Sindri is supportive of his friend, Atreus.

I love that they showed them sitting down and having dinner. It’s such a small normal thing that most games don’t show. A fun way to advance the story instead of just having this conversation just standing doing nothing.

Kratos, after everything he went through to change himself, it's still very perfectly unperfect. He represents most of what the parents in this world are. Scare and worry, Atreus is growing up, and fast too, he has already wanted to do thing without his father watching over him. And Kratos is scared of that, he lost one family, Faye taught him how to build one again and left Atreus to his care. It's understandable that he doesn't want his son to just flying into the unknown without knowing what the risk it. Their last interaction. "Does it frighten you? That's why you must do it." It's not than just encouragement to Atreus. It's also for him, "Yes, I am frighten to let him go alone, but that is why I must be brave so he can be out there alone". I know naught of the first GoW games so I am bit too shy to talk about its beauty, but goddamn, they nailed the house down with the writing in the latest two

Its crazy how Odin almost successfully broke the group and Sindri literally gives Atreus the advice that would save everyone

I really hope Sindri appears in the next game so we can reconcile with him. Nothing can ever make up for what happened with Brock, but it’s moments like this that show that Sindri truly was family to Atreus and Kratos. He deserves to be surrounded by those who love him. I hope he can find it in himself to forgive them and himself for the mistakes they made involving Brock’s first and second deaths so he can have a chance to heal and move on and live a good life with his loved ones again.

When you think about it Odin disguised as Tyr could’ve easily poisoned Kratos, Brok, Sindri, and Atreus from the stew he made but he probably would've needed Atreus with the whole mask thing.

I remember asking myself “Why the hell would Tyr say that?” It seemed out of character for him to egg Atreus on, even if it was a slip. Turns out Brock caught on to it too.

There are moments of anger where you think you can't do anything but yell it out, that this sensation is the only truthful way you will feel about something forever and that keeping it silent won't change that. But there are lots of times where that's exactly what happens after sleeping.
