I failed out of nursing school in my 1st semester, took the class twice and was 1 point away from passing. I was devastated, and depressed because i felt i was stupid and was not trying hard enough, it also didn't help that my parents didn't understand how hard college is and kept putting me down saying i wasn't good enough and that i was lazy and ive been wasting time since im no longer "young" (im 27, yes im not young but still...) nursing has always been my dream since highschool but i had trouble getting into college after HS due to my parents immigration status so i had a late start. But i want to do this and will not give up and ignore what my parents tell me, im happy i have a supportive boyfriend whose been helping me. Im hoping to start next 2021, unfortunately im having financial and family problems so i have to put my dream aside. But for now ill be doing EMT for a quick job. Its hard but, i promised my self DONT GIVE UP. No matter how long i take as long as i get there. Sorry for the long message

I just failed out of nursing school, and really needed to hear this video. I was so down on myself but I have to look up and think I can do this. Thank you for this video.

I just failed out of nursing school by 2 points on one exam. It's heartbreaking and I'm so disappointed in myself. I have to stop myself from crying or I'll cry for hours. I'm not sure what to do or where to go next. I'm really hoping it all ends well because this sucks. Even seeing nurse related videos everywhere hurts my heart because I can't call myself a nurse anymore... I'm hurting. Why does life have to be so hard?

I had to repeat a class. I was sad for 3 days then put my big girl boots on. Chin up, never give up! So glad a was able to get your whole set last year. I was never able to really understand those Nursing questions until now with your resources. Don’t know what I would do without cards & videos ❤️.

Thank you. I needed to hear that. I am much more confident when I return to nursing school for the second time I know I’m going to do well n the concepts are going to be much more clear to me. I can’t wait. ❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽

Thank you very much for this. I really needed this. I failed out of my program in my last semester when I know I shouldn’t have. They are telling me that I won’t be able to get back in until 2024 the earliest. So with pretty much out of the question, I applied to another school who now says I have to wait up to 3-4 semesters to start. So with that said, my motivation and confidence are in very short supply these days. Videos or anything like this give me some sort of light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you.

If I don’t pass this semester, I’m completely giving up and applying for the railroad.
This is too stressful, and I don’t have the time nor the money to start over at a different school.
Signed second semester nursing student.

Omg, I needed to hear this! thank you. I have been failing all my nursing classes and I feel like I'll retake them next semester. Whatever happens, I won't give up. The suffering and pain is only temporary.

Thank you for posting this. I’m in an accelerated BSN program, and I just found out that I have to retake a course even though I’m 3 weeks away from my graduation date, so now I’ll have to wait until January to start again. Least to say I’m devastated, but I’m taking the day to be sad, and after that I’m going to motivate myself to do even better. Your encouragement was exactly what I needed, and I appreciate you being such a support system to the nursing community

UPDATE: I graduate in my with my ASN! I also got into a program through the hospital I work at and they paid for my tuition and gave me extra experience and precepted time with nurses!! Sometime it doesn't work out in the best possible ways I guess!
(2 years ago) This is my first semester not nursing in 3 years... I was supposed to graduate with my BSN in May 2020. I am still at my original institution getting a general degree before going to a new program in the fall.
I feel bitter and I don't want to... I guess I have recognized that the failure is not only my own but in small ways a reflection of my institution's lack of support

I just failed Nursing Care of Children and I feel so sad and disappointed in myself. I really did try and studied for hours on end only to have to wait to retake the class. Right now I am in the "pity party" phase of my grief, but running across your video validated how I was feeling and gave me hope for my second time around. I know I will get it and I know I will be a nurse. So thank you <3

Cathy, your the best. I was in my 3 semester...out of 4 and failed. I just didn't put the work in, I suffer from depression and was in an abusive relationship. I have felt like my life is over since this fall 2019. I could of graduated June 2020. I feel like a failure but it's my passion to be a nurse. Thank you. I haven't slept, eaten or kept up with housework. I needed to hear that.
