You might want to add that if you want a turkey don't get one of the breeds meant for commercial consumption, their legs will give out due to rapid weight gain. There are several heritage breeds that make wonderful pets and stay athletic throughout their lifespan. As always, love the channel.

My son’s pet turkey would follow him around. She even would join him on the trampoline. She was very friendly and would snuggle him.

I am forever going to call baby turkeys “Turklets” now. Thank you for this wonderful gift, Clint.

I like that the turkey gets more talkative when he hears his familiar person start talking. It's like he wants to take part in the conversation.

I didn’t know the snood could contract and scrunch up like a fleshy unicorn horn. Learn something new every day

Turkeys were my favorite birds back in vet school. They were endlessly curious and friendly, but they were also kinda dumb. Like a golden retriever.

I hate that YouTube isn’t supporting the pet review videos. Who is going to tell me how to take care of turklets? And then sing songs to it at the end of the video

Recently, I’ve been pondering the idea of dinosaurs having eyelashes like ostriches. I can’t tell whether or not it would make them more terrifying or less.

When I was a boy, our neighbor had this female turkey at one point. She would often wonder about our yard and do turkey things. She was moderately sociable; she'd walk around you without fear but probably wouldn't let you pet her. The funniest thing she would do is sleep on the analog TV wire going out of our house. We'd often start getting a fuzzy signal, and when you'd check outside: yep, there she was.

Franklin wasn't a fan of the turkey.
He actually more disliked the bald eagle.
In the letter where he said the turkey would make more sense than the bald eagle, it was a sarcastic attack on the choice of the latter.
If anything, it showed how LITTLE he respected turkeys.
He was saying bald eagles are even worse.

The ultimate point that usually gets missed, though, is that both were native to North America.

So was the rattlesnake on the Gadsden Flag, and the Mohawk warriors whose garb was worn by a few people during the Boston Tea Party.

The founding fathers were specifically choosing things that were not from Europe, to say "we're born here, we're not Europeans".

I've never seen a Turkey in my life (Probably because they're not eaten here in Southeast Asia), I didn't know they genuinely sound like that, that's awesome 😭

The "six foot turkey" line has always been hilarious to me, because not only is a real velociraptor mongoliensis about the size of a turkey, comparing them to one to call them unintimidating only tells me they've ve never met a turkey.

Clint is officially pardoned from being eaten by the president of turkeys

one thing I'll note about large birds, I don't know about turkeys but birds like geese and swans, I figure turkeys will do the same, their feet are not their only weapons. They will "punch" you with their wings which depending on the size of the bird can do a not insignificant damage.

I lived out in the country as a kid. My parents got two turkeys and we called them Christmas and Thanksgiving. They survived both holidays and became cool pets. They are cool. I've also encountered turkey's in the wild.

My favorite name for baby turkeys is actually goblets. 😄 It just seems appropriate and much better than poults although turklets is ok.
I have been in the midst of a huge flock of wild turkeys on my dad’s farm in Pennsylvania. We regularly have small flocks of wild turkeys in our suburban yard in Minnesota. None of the turkeys have ever been aggressive toward me. We got to watch a hen turkey raise her 9 goblets from small fluffy balls to gawky teenagers. She didn’t lose a single one!

How can youtube NOT want you to rate animals to see if they make good pets? Isnt that how you started? I LOVE those videos and so does everyone!

The phrase "turkeys can throw down" brightened my entire day. Thank you. I didn't know I needed this fact in my life.
