What I don't understand about the Left's infatuation with unbridled immigration is that it is entirely shared by big business. The plc I work for is currently replacing our British Class 1 drivers with Europeans because THEY ARE PAYING THEM LESS. This is actually happening as I type and everyone who works for the company up-and-down the country can blatantly see it. These are all people who traditionally would have been Labour voters. I have contact with people from the same industry across the UK and similar things are being constantly reported. When people like Liddle talks about "disconnect" between Labour and its former core voters, this is what he means. It really isn't too difficult to grasp and, if taken on-board and used to formulate policy, could actually help Labour win the next election.

It's scary that the silly black woman is on the program to represent a significant wing of the Labour movement and yet she is so blind to reality that she thinks that wages are set by government and not something arrived at through the interplay of market forces.

Shocking from Liddle. Contributing to the narrative that working-classes and middle-classes want different things. Working classes and middle classes stand in solidarity in support for a fairer society and against the kind of political classes that refuse to address real issues by using poor satire as retaliation for being kicked out of a party who you seem to no longer relate to.
