@MiCkYLiZaMa671 The machine I'm using is a overlock machine and one of it's features is to cut the fabric, it's not the same as a sewing machine. A similar effect can be achieved by just using a zigzag stitch along the edge of the fabric =)

Hi kirsllaw! It's an entirely different machine, mine is a Brother machine from Costco. It's not necessary, but it is something convenient to have =)

It's possible to hand sew, I draw a stencil on a piece of paper and then go over it with a zigzag stitch that is sent to have really low stitch length =)

A little tip that I have picked up is when sewing buttons or fastners, you can double up the thread through your needle so you're sewing 4 threads at a time. Makes it way faster to finish.

Gonna try this! After buying my first sewing machine I went into my local sewing shop and asked help on getting started, and she's gave me a pattern for a skirt with a TONNE of pieces and stuff I just don't understand
