I’m currently doing a very environment-based project as a sort of “mini-thesis” at my school, so thank you for this super helpful video! I’m currently at the end stages of this project, but I might continue the theme for my main thesis next semester. My biggest problem i’m encountering at the moment is color and light in large environments—getting the atmosphere right, especially as the painting goes farther into the distance, and also dealing with colors in strong lighting scenarios such as sunsets. I’m trying to keep in mind color temperature and color relativity, but it’s still hard to get it just right. Do you have any videos addressing color and light in environments? If not, maybe that could be an interesting topic to touch on in future videos!

I’ve been playing around with the “watercolor for bears” set for a few weeks now and my absolute favorite is the wet paper brush for the exact reasons you mentioned. It’s changed the way I’ve been painting which has really caused me to tap into a new perspective of painting because of the brushes particular nuances. ❤️❤️❤️ your puppy! Also, while I do an entirely different kind of creating in a different medium, your lessons give me so many tips and pointers. I do use Procreate for many other kinds of designing, and just watching you keep one finger ready to call-up the eye dropper changed the entire way I use the app. Amazing how that works.
