Wales Lose to Argentina 29-17 - RWC Quarter Final Review

The end of an Era in Welsh Rugby as Wales lose to Argentina 29-17 in the RWC. With this loss, Dan Biggar has played his last game for Wales, and possibly a few others have as well.

We must now look ahead to Wales vs the Barbarians in a few weeks time, the URC getting under away and of course a look ahead to the 2024 Six Nations, as Wales start a new Rugby World Cup Cycle.

I didn’t like the make up of the match 23 but trusted Gats. I think Thomas and Dee should have been on the bench as the front row cover and also don’t believe we can play Reffell and Jac Morgan together. I worry for the future also. Liam Williams can’t play in the six nations and we don’t have a natural replacement. Rees-Zammit isn’t a 15 for me. Biggar has gone and Anscombe will likely not be available so that leaves Costelow who I don’t think is ready yet. Josh Adams needs dropping for Rio Dyer too. Adams is out of form and gives away needless pens.

Given the World Cup rules pre tournament regarding any head contact will result in penalty and cards reviewed in the bunker it was a total mystery as to why suddenly leading with a shoulder into a welsh players head resulting in welsh player sent off for hia assessment while no penalty for wales or yellow for Argentina.. meanwhile normal service resumed in boks game where boks player yellow carded for head contact … its just unbelievable inconsistency horse shit that went against wales and momentum awarded back to argies who scored a try..

After a quality 30mins wales decided to totally ruin their 10 point lead by losing their accuracy.. 3 attacking line outs in opposition 22 last 10 mins of 1st half would not have been butchered by the likes of the boks etc.. if wales took just 1 try from a driving line out and going in 17 nil at half time it would have been totally different mindset.. basic errors killed wales momentum like dropping the ball … talk about a missed opportunity.. that’s the difference after watching ire all blacks and boks fran quarters … accuracy
