Before anyone hates, I understand that Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher are incompatible due to the different time periods, different cars etc. I only made this video for fun, and it does not mean that one is better than the other.

average points per race? a race win was 10 points during schumachers time

Such comparisons are always very lopsided. For example, it looks very different if you only evaluate Schumacher's first part of his career, before he returned after a three-year break - then Schumacher's statistics are far better than Hamilton's in terms of average starting positions, points per race, wins per race, podiums per race. And this despite the fact that Schumacher did not start his career with an absolute top team and then went to a team that had not won a title in 17 years and needed to be built up. This comparison is much more representative, because Hamilton never took a three-year break and it distorts the comparison, because you would have to see what Hamilton would do if he took a three-year break and returned to another F1 at over 40 years old. But in general, when it comes to the GOAT, you really have to take average values, i.e. wins per race, etc. and put the situation in relation under which these values were achieved. The situation is that Hamilton achieved these values by sitting in the best car for most of his career over 10 years of his 16 year career. Schumacher, on the other hand, was only, if at all, in the best car in 2001, 2002, 2003 (not clear) and 2004... from 1991 up to and including 2000 he sat in a car that was inferior to his competitor, nevertheless he won three world championship titles, it would have been probably four had he not broken his leg in 1999, and fought until the last race for two more.5 title fights, then. While Hamilton, without the best car, can't even prove a title fight. He was even beaten by an aging Button, who was at his peak during Schumacher's first part of his career, but never played a role there. In the end, that's what speaks the clearest language. Because when you win title after title in the best car, you're really just delivering. Whereas if msn wins titles against the best car, i.e. in an inferior car, and fights for it until the last race - this requires superior driving talent. So the latter you could observe with Schumacher in 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, while with Hamilton you look in vain for something like that. On the contrary, if you look at the years when Hamilton didn't have the best car, you have to say that he wasn't able to perform exceptionally well and show exceptional driving talent. He didn't play any role in the world championship fight and was far away from the first places in the world championship ranking. While a Schumacher, even with completely inferior cars that were not even among the best three, like the 1996 and 2005 Ferrari, finished third in the WRC standings. It is exactly these years and circumstances, when a driver is not in the best car, that show who the true GOAT is. Because that's where it comes down to the driver alone. There he must show his superior talent and not drive away with the best car in front. And if you take these years, Schumacher has three titles and two more world championship battles until the last race, so 5. Hamilton has a zero both in terms of world championship titles and title fights, at best a one. Here, then, a glaring difference becomes clear if you look at the years where only the driving talent had to make the difference. If you look even closer, it would be completely inconceivable that Schumacher would have been beaten by a rookie in the team. While Russell managed to do so in his first year. Likewise, it is inconceivable that Schumacher would have been beaten by an aging driver who was at best minimally above average. And that's all Button was, because even though he became world champion thanks to Brawn's double diffuser, he never played much of a role in F1 otherwise. Especially in Schumacher's time, when he was young and fastest, he was far from the best like Alonso or Schumacher. So if you look closely, and take purely where the driver really makes the difference - then the comparison speaks a pretty clear language. It becomes even clearer if you completely remove the years in which both drivers sat in the best car. Schumacher has about 45 victories. While with Hamilton one hand is enough to count the victories. And these are again the moments of the career where purely the driving talent is decisive. No matter how you look at it, Schumacher is always far better than Hamilton in these comparisons where the driver had to make the difference. The difference is then really striking! The fact is that it is exactly these moments and parts of the career in which the extra driving talent of a GOAT is required. Where the driver has to make the difference and compensate for the deficits of an inferior car with his extra driving talent and not simply exploit the potential of the fastest and best car and drive it home. And here Schumacher is indeed far, far ahead. The fact that in the moments when it was purely a matter of driving talent he beat Hamilton hands down is a fact that there is nothing to discuss. The numbers show it clearly. So in the end there is only one question to be answered when judging the GOAT - is it the bare numbers that make the GOAT or the proof of exceptional driving talent.

Last but not least, one more thing - another characteristic of the GOAT is, as I said, his exceptional driving performance and class. This includes giving absolutely everything in every race and showing this class especially when he has to make the difference. This is where Schumacher has always shone, whereas with Hamilton it was very often the impression that when he had to make the difference, he was listless. Schumacher was always motivated here and got everything out, because it was precisely then that his talent was needed. Hamilton, on the other hand, as you saw very often in 2022 and 2023, did nothing of the sort. Instead, he drove around in midfield, looking listless. Why was that? It's precisely these moments when extra talent is needed and can make a difference, and when the team needs it. And not when everything is going great anyway. And here, too, there is a striking difference between Schumacher and Hamilton. And here you also have to realize - who is the GOAT? The driver who, whenever his extra talent was in demand, called it up and used it, or the one who, at precisely those moments, often didn't feel like doing so, for whatever reason.

Lewis didn't start on an awful team and win Championships, then move to another awful team, build it from the ground up and win 5 more championships. Given a team and car that was already top notch means Lewis didn't have to struggle for any of his poles, wins or championship. Grow a brain and think this through.

If it Schumacher without Mercedes he’d pretty much take everything except poles

the no of points on race wins during Schumacher's time were limited to only 6 places & also the no of points for a race win was 10 so it is a matter of commonsense during & now Lewis Hamilton's time points are given to the top 10 finishers & the one who ends up 1st gets 25 points earlier 20 points again not during Schumacher's time

barring poles Lewis Hamilton took more no of race entries even to equal MichaelSchumacher's records infact few of them have yet to be matched Lewis Hamilton never left a championship winning car like MichaelSchumacher to join a car that was not even finishing races this requires guts had he continued with Benetton or had Ferrari been even half of what they were from 2000 + Schumacher's injury in 1999 & last two races in 2006 where he had to face mechanical problems if these had not happened MichaelSchumacher would have won 9 titles with at least 100 wins all by his 249th race entry after which he retired MichaelSchumacher is God of F1

What I think about f1 goat debate is like the goat debate in the nba

I think leborn is the goat, but his legacy is never compared to Jordan

That seems goes on F1, Lewis is the goat but the legacy of Micheal is untouchable like the impact what he done to this sport, is the same what Jordan did

(Plz don’t roast my grammar)

All stats no skill. Schumi had like 15-16 races per season in his era and yet managed to pull out 91 wins. And the fact that the fastest laps still holds on is crazy. Hamilton won but Schumacher Dominated

C’est nul de comparer les victoires et pôle position parce qu’on avait moins de courses à l’époque de Shumacher
