The Altay is a modern main battle tank, designed and developed by Otokar, a subsidiary of Koç Holding, for the Turkish Army and export markets.[12][13][14] It is named in honor of Army General Fahrettin Altay[15] who commanded the 5th Cavalry Corps in the final stage of the Turkish War of Independence.

The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s for the West German Army. The tank first entered service in 1979 and succeeded the earlier Leopard 1 as the main battle tank of the German Army. Various versions have served in the armed forces of Germany and 12 other European countries, as well as several non-European nations. The Leopard 2 was used in Kosovo with the German Army and has also seen action in Afghanistan with the Danish and Canadian contributions to the International Security Assistance Force.

Actually Germany makes best Land weapons such as Tank, IFV, AFV, small arms and Engine(Nobody can't make it same as Germany)
And Turkey is fast developing terms of technology

Its a license built version of the korean K2, with a licensed built gun developed by Rheinmetall, a licensed built MTU engine and a gearbox built by RENK (also german).
So the pride of the turkish army is a tank developed by the koreans with every important component of the tank being developed by the germans up to 2 decades ago.

Altay number built 1000? It's not even the "planned" number, only the "hoped" one. The mass production had not even started yet, so the total production is still at 4 prototypes.

1000 Altay have not been built and it has never been used in war. There are only approx 3 prototype Altays and the plan is to build 1000+. Keep it real (I am Turkish)

As a western turk germans are really really good in making tanks but the unrealesed altay tank is more modern has more new technolgy and better weapon systems about the armor i cant say anything because its top secret but i think its boron its light and better for protection and i heard that the altay can stop a tow or atgm and non of the leopard system can that so i say ALTAY

Germans were building tanks since WW2. Obviously they are way more experienced than us. But our development RATE is higher. You can observe this when you look at UAV techs. Our HALE class armed UAV "Akıncı" will be full ready in 2020.
