YES SOPHIE! I was a regular little nightmare to the hospital staff when I went in with Els. I knew exactly what I wanted and needed to do. The doctor told me I was having an epidural and I told him where to go. Women definitely don't realise how much say they have over their level of care. The saying that 'mums know best!' Is there for a reason xoxo

So true. I think we all feel like we have to listen to the pros. I definitely found that I felt more powerful the second time around. First time I was clueless and just felt like I did as I was told and it really didn't go the way I wanted. Second time I just felt like they took my choices more seriously knowing I'd already had one. This time around I will make sure that I am happy and in control of the decisions that happen. x

Yes As a young mum I literally just done what I was told with my first birth. I wish I had known all this. x

It's really tough to be assertive in the labour situation... I'm a bit pathetic and want to be liked so tend to go with what they suggest! If I have a third I'll be more forceful, but politely forceful!!! X
