In this video I share a new all time high of $3 million US dollars that my dividend portfolio just hit. I’ll also show you a potential bug (CORRECTION: no bug) in Fidelity and I’ll explain why I’ve constructed my portfolio in a way that I expect will underperform the market over the long run, which another financial influencer said was stupid to do.

I’ve been investing since 1989 (457 plan). I got really serious about it around 2009 with a Roth IRA. I’m now convinced a two fund portfolio is easy and successful. I tell the young generation that doesn’t want to research/pay attention to have this portfolio. Your age in SCHD, and 100 - your age (the balance) in SCHG. Use dividends and contributions to keep things where they need to be. And never sell either to rebalance. As you age, you will naturally collect more dividends. Easy enough for anyone to handle.

Just found your channel ( literally, first video watched) and so glad you shared your portfolio! I am starting late and have been investing ~ 1 year outside employer 401Ks. I have been reading and watching a lot of YouTubers on opinions and individual stocks. My father, 82, sat me down last year to go over his assets and let’s just say I’ve been hooked on dividend investing ever since. As a newbie ( with a lot less time to invest before retirement) it has been difficult to not chase the higher yields for the more safer options as I am attempting to build as quickly possible; however am finding that safer investments are less worrisome and am shifting my goals going forward.
Thank you for sharing and I hope to achieve that type of financial freedom one day.

My monthly dividend has finally crossed 450. It would be much higher, but I’m pivoting out of high yield monthly to blue chip quarterly. It’s working brilliantly for now.

Congrats on reaching a $3 million portfolio. IMO, the $10, 500+ in dividends per month is even more impressive. My personal portfolio does not produce nearly as much in dividends as yours, but that is because I don't hold any sin stocks, and hold only a small amount of REITs, which means my overall percentage of higher yielding stocks is much lower. But, like you stated that is a personal choice. Also, my portfolio consists a mix of growth and dividend growth stocks, so not all of my stocks pay dividends and I invest a lot in tech stocks. So, I expect my portfolio will be more volatile than yours. I repeat, that is a personal choice. Again, congratulations!!!

Congratulations on your 3 million milestone. In terms of portfolio video frequency. Maybe just do some milestone videos. Like now that you hit the 3 million next video could be the 3.25 or even the 3.5 to show how fast the compound growth is.

Nice milestone to reach. I know there are mixed opinions about YouTube portfolio updates (I have commented to you before), from non-disclosure to bragging types, but these types of channels do need to show the proof, but do it modestly and to "educate, inspire, and entertain" your viewers. I think your portfolio updates per quarter and special milestones are fitting for your channel. Keep up the good work.
