How do you recognise a good GELATO when in Rome? 🤔🍦

Показать описание
🔸When it comes to food, it is easy to fall into tourist traps in the center of Rome
🔸But there are some signs that we can spot not to fall into one of them 🧐
🔸Here’s some tips to recognise a good gelato, from a not so good gelato 🕵🏻♀️
🔸When inside a gelateria (gelato shop):
🍦 if you see flavours which are off-season (like peach in December), then the gelato is not made of real fruit
🍦if you see vibrant, flashy, unnatural colours you should suspect there’s colorants on the gelato. Always think: is that fruit really in that colour in real life? 🤔
🍦if you see the gelato piled high on its tin, that’s not a good sign either. It looks attractive, but in that way the temperature is not even throughout the gelato.
That means that they added chemicals to it to keep it frozen.
Usually a good gelato is kept below the tin rim, or in some case covered with a lid.
🔸It does not make a difference if there is a lid or not, that just depends on the temperatures that each gelateria decides to keep in the fridge
🔸You may have had gelatos which are super colourful, or piled super high and still liked it. These gelatos can be good anyway (I mean, how can a gelato be disgusting after all??!😜)
🔸But once you try the real Italian gelato, then you will not go back, guaranteed! 😉
