Does Technology Make Religion Obsolete?

You’re in a conversation and someone says, “The human race doesn't need religion anymore; technology is solving all of our problems.”

What would you say?

Technology today can seem miraculous. We’ve sent people to the moon, cured diseases that in the past killed millions, significantly reduced global poverty and hunger, and we have nearly limitless information constantly available, right at our fingertips. Why would we put our trust in anything else?

The next time someone says, “technology will solve all of our problems,” here are 3 things to keep in mind:

First, technology isn’t really good or bad, but it isn’t neutral either.
Second, science and technology can’t provide an answer for everything.
Third, technology can be a powerful force for good, but we shouldn’t blindly trust it.

_“Technology will solve all our problems”..._ if they use this, it’s a clue you’re not dealing with big brain thinkers.

100th to watch. Great video, I always find it so annoying when people just think science and technology are the answer to everything when they're clearly not. They're simply METHODS of explaining how things work and don't provide any answers since they are just a means to do something sadly most people don't realise this and will keep blindly "believing the science" even tho science constantly changes.

_"We don't need religion anymore..." "Technology will solve all our problems..."_
My knee jerk response, would be to point out that this ideology sounds remarkably like a religion, based upon belief in Technology.

My Christian response, would be to clarify whether they also meant my Faith, was included in this statement.
( _Because my Faith, is a belief that can be have religious elements. But is more accurately described as a Belief that is founded on the Evidence for it. And that evidence has only gotten better over time. Especially with new technologies that continue to discover more evidence that backs up my Faith perspective._ )

And my scholarly opinion, would be that this idea was certainly becoming a religious belief about technology. Or at least, in danger of becoming so. Even if it wasn't already semi religious. ( _Because humans/humanity might not be willing to acknowledge that God's existence has been proven by Jesus Christ. But they still long for similar benefits that God's Blessings & Existence would provide... And will try to replace it with similar reverence for Idols. Which can be anything [Literally Any Noun], including beliefs that Science/Technology will have all the answers... at some point in the future, maybe even our lifetime's._ )
