I MUST ASK!!!

My Questions understand that there are five (5) sunshades that are deployed on what is that color of the bottom-most 'shade', does it help in "shading"???
OR
Is it just a 'protective covering' from where the sunshades come from? Is it pink??

Reason I ask, is that I plan on building a model of this and I want to get the colors correct, and explain to others.
