The way I would have written Kang would have been more like a man playing a long game rather than a simple villain. (Small essay inbound)

Kang would have been a villain far detached from the events of Phase 4 and possibly even most of Phase 5. But he would have been the orchestrator of many of the conflicts in these movies and TV shows. Thanos was a single force that was lying in wait at the end of the tunnel. Kang would be the spider laying out a large, interconnected web of connections that would be reaped at a later date.

This would fix the disconnected and inconsequential feel of the Disney+ shows and the Phase 4 movies; instead of getting a bunch of movies that don't really go anywhere narratively, we'd be getting a piece of Kang's plan every time we get a new Marvel story. It would also give incentive to actually watch all of the content instead of feeling like you can skip out on most of it and be fine.

Also, I would not have had the Kang that would be the primary antagonist of this three-phase saga be trapped in the Quantum Realm. It keeps him away from the majority of the overarching narrative and makes him less important than he should be.

EDIT: Words and clarification
