Things in Venezuela have changed dramatically being there for a few weeks a month ago, I felt completely safe walking and driving everywhere, and things have improved a lot in many other ways. If María Corina Machado is somehow able to become president, the Venezuelan economy will take off like a rocket and Venezuela could be one of the best countries in the world.

Why did you ask those homeless guys about the situation? Even a homeless man in the US will tell you his country sucks.

Hey bro just wanted to say your videos are helping me learn some new Spanish words and you talking to other people helps me being able to understand people talking more. I appreciate your videos man! I know you’re going to Brazil but I hope the Spanish talking continued or you go to another país donde la hente habla español. Muchos gracias Roger!

I lived in Venezuela on and off for twenty years and watching the video it looks totally different.... There's a lot less noise and traffic for back a few years, if you had tried to cycle from Caracas to Maracaibo or San Cristobal you would've been lucky to get five kilometres out of the city before being hit by a truck or robbed and given a good beating or worse. In the video Caracas has the feeling of a ghost

Not surprised Venezuela is safe, all the criminals have come down here to Peru where they can be arrested as many times as they like but never have to go to jail.

I live in Bogota, Colombia. A lot of local people from Bogota, and Colombia in general, shit on Venezuela how it is "unsafe", "never go there", and similar bad reputation stuff – but based on your video and some experiences I've heard from a friend who stayed in Caracas for a month – it is literally the same as in Colombia; especially in a large city like Bogota. Safe during the day, sometimes risk of pickpockets, during the night it gets more risky depending in what "estrato" you live in. Lots of homeless people recycling and begging for money on the streets as well. People love to blame the influx of Venezuleans for these problems here, but from what I know from older generation – it has always been like this, it's just that the people always like to blame others for their problems.

Thank you for sharing an insightful video – I really enjoy your content man; good luck with your travels and with your learnings. Latam can be a sketchy place, but it is an immensely beautiful and passionate part of the world ridden with many differences and contrastswhich you can see at every step.

Thank you for clearly breaking down the safety situation; useful insight. This year, I traveled to La Guajira in Colombia, and wanted to cross the border to Venezuela, however, couldn't fine much information on the safety. Still, I'm not convinced to visit the country, even the people that claimed it's fine, seemed hesitant.

Good job, Roger. Thnks for teaching the foreigners about the sitiation that my country is living now in 2023. Not all is well, but the country is safer than in 2017. Things will get much better when Maduro finally goes away.

The guy who lives on the street saying that the city is not safe, he is rather showing that it can be safe, he lives on the street and instead of stealing he looks for fruit to sell, I mean you can't talk with a valuable camera and without a companion with a homeless person in any city in the world. I hope he can get out of that situation, he seems to be a good person. Good job Roger

I lived in Caracas between Sep 1977 and Aug 1979. At that time Venezuelans used to call the city "La sucursal del cielo", it means the branch of heaven on earth. Maybe it was not spiritual, but it was amazing. I spent two wonderful years. I was a teenager and me and my friends used to go out alone around the long metropolitan area. Never encounter a problem. When I left, I remember crying. It was a really amazing place to be young.

Of course safety has improved in Venezuela. They have exported most of their criminals to other countries in Latin America. Now, also sending criminals to USA.

9:42 "I prefer to have a drink here in my homeland" - I prefer to go through hard times in my land rather than someone elses land. He's right. Some immigrants leave and actually arrive to a better life. But for millions of migrants life outside of Venezuela/their respective countries it's even worse for them.
