I break down my workflow and show you some tips that I've picked up from using Logic Pro X. I explain why you shouldn't be tracking linear recordings horizontally, but should be using takes to stack up multiple recordings vertically.

I hadn’t thought of a colour scheme for takes. Thank you.

You can also drag and select any part of any take, and they become the top track as an automatic Composite track.
Awesome feature.
Find your favorite take...
If you find one or more things you liked better in a previous take, just drag across that...you can get a perfect take, with all of your own playing...best of your best.

when recording takes in cycle mode, can you set it up so you can hit record any time and it starts doing takes on loop? I can only do takes when starting from a stopped position. if I hit record when looping, it punches out at the end of the cycle. sometimes I don't want to hit stop before recording takes. its annoying me.

Hey mate great video, I'm just wondering if you've ever run into the following problem:

1st take - all good
2nd take - all good
3rd take etc - tracks completely out of time with each other

Sometimes I can do 5 or more takes and it works exactly like it's supposed to, other times every take above 3 is a complete mess.

I hope that make sense, I know this is an oldish video but I'd really appreciate a response if you have a moment!
