This song has been covered by other artists but the TOYS really do own it.

Nobody writes happy songs like these anymore. I miss the 1960s and 1970s.

I was in Bermuda in 1966. I saw these ladies perform in the Forty Thieves Club in Hamilton. They sang this hit song and gave a terrific performance and were so friendly to the audience.

I was raised on this music. I remember one day at a car show they had a woman group playing songs. The lead singer began taking requests saying jokingly she would only play if we know both artist and the song title. It was 1994 and 11 year old me rasied my hand. I told her both the song and artist for this song. I got a round of applause and Awwws! These people older then me by probably 20-30 years old where amazed i knew this song at my young age. My parents whistled too and where proud. She played it and after the show told me that made her week. She hadn't seen anyone that young make a request like that.

The pop song "A Lover's Concerto" by The Toys (1965) is based on Minuet in G Major, often attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach but actually composed by Christian Petzold. The Toys' producers, Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell, adapted the classical melody into a soulful and catchy pop hit.

This song became a huge success, blending classical music with 1960s pop, and it remains a great example of merging timeless melodies with modern styles.

This song came out when I was 8 years old and will always be in my heart.

I wasn’t lucky enough to be alive in that time, but this song, along with “Take Good Care of My Baby” and “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” makes me feel like I lived it. I like to think songs like these capture the essence of that time period.

THIS SONG REMAINS AS VIABLE TODAY AS IT DID 55 YEARS AGO TESTAMENT TO THE SONG AND THE TOYS THEMSELVES.

I was borned in 1957 and listened to this as a little boy back in the mid 1960's, it sort of puts me flying through the clouds above in some parts of the song and today in 2024 it still does. Infinitely better than rap and most hip hop music.
