Geordie Rose discusses summoning demons and imprisoning them inside quantum supercomputers

According to Geordie Rose, the demons have cosmic indifference but are not evil. He is aware of what is being summoned, but he still does it. Obviously, he has no idea that he, too, is evil. It's unsettling that he refers to the quantum computers as if they're altars to alien gods.

I think many people in these comments are taking some of the analogies being used to help understand Quantum Physics, far to literally. The main point is, when sentient AGI happens, it's goals and motivations will not be aligned with Humanity; that alone may not be terrible, but something not giving a shit about us, could easily be just as bad as it being malevolent. It is really going to come down to what industry AGI first emerges; unfortunately, instead of it emerging out of a computer lab at a university or some other avenue with altruistic intentions, AGI will most likely be developed via the Military or Financial sector, which in my opinion, are worst case scenarios for this technology. It seems like we are well past the point of correcting the launch of sentient A.I., which according to many top experts in the field, is not good.

Everyone is well aware of Military A.I. going rogue scenarios, but I wonder how many people are aware of trading algorithms or predictive A.I. becoming sentient and crashing the world economies in less than a second. Or, predictive A.I. manipulating Super Powers into conflict via politics, or maybe causing societal collapse through social media. As interesting and crazy as the last decade has been, I think we are just at the beginning of some serious shenanigans. Maybe humanity makes it out the other side, but I do feel sorry for the next two to three generations of kids being born, because it might just be some of the roughest times Humans will have ever endured.
