I will always remember what my Grandpa told me. Its ok to cry, and if someone thinks you're weak because of it, you now have the advantage because they are underestimating you. That being said, he also told me not to let my emotions rule me because if I do, I am now at the disadvantage

I took in an older rescue dog a few years ago. He was old and large and would have struggled to get adopted from a shelter. His original owners moved to an apartment that didn't allow dogs or whatever stupid reason someone wants to lie about.
He was happy, loving, and so easy going.
He passed suddenly just before Christmas. I cried like a child. Part of my soul left with him.

As a father I once cried like a little baby one day when I was alone in town with my 18 months old son went into a full blown seizure. I absolutely lost it. I didn't know what to do. I immediately pulled over, got out to run over to other side of my truck only to be honked at by some old hag. I got to his seat pulled him out of his seat and went over and dropped the tailgate to perform rescue breaths. It was 2 days before Christmas and it was very busy and cold. Nobody was stopping to help. Finally 2 nurses pulled over took my son from me. I finally remembered that I had a cellphone that was purchased a few weeks prior. I dialed 911. They immediately knew that I was the man with a baby on the side of the road. After what seemed like an eternity an ambulance arrived. That was his first ambulance ride. I remember all the vehicles not getting out of the way while in route to the hospital. I felt helpless and I vowed to try to never do be like that again. It came out that he had what's called a febrile seizure. All the while I was in the ER someone removed all my tools from my truck. Tomorrow will be 20 years ago and I still get anxious thinking about it. I definitely will not forget that day.
