WW2 of course, but ww1? Wasn't it Austria who pushed for war and Germany was just an ally of them so they had to join in?

You forgot the important Revolution of 1848/89!

In german "the great migration period" is actually called "Völkerwanderung" which translates to something like "migration of the peoples". So our historians are a little more creative.

This is really great for the most part.

The one part you could have addressed a bit more was the failed German revolution 1830-1840. That period of our history is often glossed over but it is essentially where all the troubles that eventually let to WW1 and WW2 originally started.

It's a nice little vid about the history of Germany. You could obviously include much more than that, but you tried to cover 2000 years of history in a few minutes. But you made one minor mistake: When you showed the raise of nationalism in Germany after the Napoleon, the flags should be black red gold or gold red black. Just look up the pictures of the "Hambacher Fest" or the german revolution 1848.

The reason why poles call Germany “Niemcy” is not because of the lots of smaller regions in Germany.
Niemcy comes from word “Niemy” with means Muted/somebody who’s not talking. And the history of it is the fact than German language was really hard to understand and for us it Sounds like two muted people try to talk each other. Even word “Niemcy” you can understand like a group of muted people.
