DJI Mini 4K - Best Budget Drone?

Today DJI has launched a new budget mini drone called the DJI Mini 4K. This is a first-look review of this new sub 250g drone. Based on the DJI Mini 2 SE with some nice new imaging enhancements such as 4K video and 2.7K at 60FPS. The bitrate has also been boosted up to 100mbps for overall better video quality. The DJI Mini 4K is a solid drone for $299 and will be a great choice for new pilots or those who want a reliable inexpensive 4K drone for travel.

Hey Sean! I missed this launch and video. I'm so excited about this drone. It's the perfect backup to my Mini 2 at a good price. It could just be my imagination, but my mini 2 seems to have gotten better over the last 3 years with signal strength while flying my drone behind skyscrapers here in downtown Los Angeles, possibly through software updates. This drone is real discreet.

Is it technically possible to fly higher than 120m metres with a DJI Mini 4K (with C0 classification)? Or is the limit fixed and cannot be exceeded?

I’ve always loved the mini 2 and thought it was a shame when it was discontinued on the DJI website. Do you happen to know if this will be covered with the care/refresh program since it’s not available on their site?

disapointed, i thought is going to be significant upgrade with added tracking capabilities which is not present from mini 1 to 3, well its just the mini 2 reborn..

Interesting marketing angle. US / Europe only and not available directly from DJI. Hmmm this will sell for sure. And don’t forget you can get nd filters still for the mini whatever. Not in Canada you say? Pity!

The big question is whether you buy this, Potensic Atom or the new Fimi Mini 3. It makes for an interesting mix now at the base entry level drone price point.
