From our homes during isolation, we've recorded this song which has become something of a King's Singers classic over the years.
'You are the New Day' is a love song to each new dawn, with all its hope and opportunity. Recording these words this week felt particularly meaningful.

This has always been my favorite song by the King's Singers. It's a true timeless classic.

I sang briefly with the Kings Singers after they performed in Washington, DC. THEY ASKED ME WHICH OF THEIR VAST REPERTOIRE WAS MY FAVORITE. I SAID "THE Rose because of its tenor part. They began singing and so did other people. I am a true tenor and since I quit smoking, my upper range tops out at Second Soprano
Thank you for posting this performance. I am smiling with happy tears brought on by this extraordinary performance. One day, we will all be able to sing as much as we can. Wouldn't be wonderful if singers all over the globe would begin singing the Hallelujah chorus? 🎶🎵🎼 .

Oh my gosh, I’ve watched this so many times. Anyone else? Or am I weirdly entranced by this?

I heard this behind a PBS promo and spent the next two years trying to find it. So whenever that was to now is how long I have been obsessed with finding it, and hearing it if only one more time.

This is a new day.

22 years ago, a choir of our dearest male friends sang this from the choir loft at my husband's and my wedding. <3

I remember singing this back in, oh, maybe 1997? with my school choir. We were on a trip up to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and we were actually sleeping at the aquarium. We all gathered together and sang this to, believe it or not, whales. It is the best out of only a few good memories I have of being a teenager. Thanks for the reminder that there were some really good times back then too. :)

A beloved National Public Radio host in my area played this every day on his show, which I how I discovered it. I had left home after high school, looking for a better life, and this is one of the things I discovered. It's fun to watch this "work at home" recording and see the singers as individuals as well as part of an incredible ensemble.

It is a time of lead. Things are collapsing and the promise of tomorrow is more collapse, Therefore how refreshing to hear this incandescent song that promises us hope and rejuvenation both in the dawn and the dusk. Thank you, King Singers, you may think you are only singing but YOU ARE DOING A LOT TO BUOY US UP

Remember I was overwhelmed by this song when Irish MARY O"HARA (born 1935) sang this in her 2nd career . On her LP Scent of Roses, published 1980, so some 40 years ago already. Now I am overwhelmed again by the King's Singers' version. What a vocal gem. In the new line up of a young generation, fans can only be extremely grateful for the high vocal level. I hope these six will stay for quite awhile. All voices, without exception, bass, 2 baritons, tenor and 2 countertenors are a blessing for the ear. The two counters blend very well and the last newcomer Edward (2nd from the left) has "popstarlooks" by the way!, if you will excuse my off the record remark. But also the other voices (1 counter and tenor) sometimes pair so well, same with the 2 baritons. There is always something to discover. That's why you have to listen many times and each time concentrate on another singer. Six vocalists keep you busy!! Boys, 12 votes from the Netherlands!

I've been a fan of kings singers since I was 3 years old. My parents were obsessed and played their music all the time. I was a kid of the 90s. New Day has been my favorite song from the first time I heard it. I didn't think the original could be duplicated. This new generation of singers has completely blown me away! I cried tears of joy through this whole song. I'm a music snob, so that's a big deal. Thank you.
