Woah, I've only ever used pit toilet outhouses. Literally just a toilet that has a hole beneath it. Stinks like nothing else. This is amazing.

This is the coolest and cleanest outhouse I have ever seen. It looks easy to use but going out in freezing, windy nights doesn’t sound like fun. Or being “stuck” doing your biz in 100 degree weather 😂

Sorry but I think I'll just stick with my indoor plumbing. With my IBS I wouldn't make it half time.. and 3:00 in the morning in a pouring down rain is does not go good with me.

My NH cabin has an indoor 2-stage, composting toilet. You sit and do #2 like normal, then thrown in wood shavings and close the 'sealed' cover. It has 2 vents, one high, the other low, so there is always airflow through, and no smells. (We do (as moslty males there.) typically do #1 outdoors, which cuts down on the water loading of the toilet.) Then, when bucket below the flow is full, you swap a clean one in and take the bucket to empty into the main composting system 'up back', Works well. I'm amazed how many people are disgusted by going to the bathroom. Hello, it's a natural function. But, then again, I'm a hiker, so used to going 'in the woods'. :-)

I already freeze to death using the toilet in the basemenet here. I don't think I could handle having to go outside. But that's a pretty cool outhouse.

Hey Nate, have you seen the videos with reusable toilet paper, made for drying yourself off after using bidet? Dunno if its something you'd care for, but i imagine it might end up being less wasteful then using toilet paper (to dry off, cos there be those who would stil rather use normal TP for wiping)

Toilets like that are called a long drop here in South Africa😂 They're actually fairly common here, so I see genuinely no problem with this
