Having just finished my first oil painting in 20 years, I found this piece of info invaluable. Thank you Dianne.

Thank you Dianne. While I’m usually fairly organized, I’m noticing that my art room is getting crowded with supplies and paintings. I’d love to hear more about your studio set up and perhaps a tour of your studio? Aquick tip on organizing a workspace would be very helpful.

What a great tip for storing the paint! Thanks so much! I truly appreciate it! I have tried other way, but still the paint dries faster. I will try the plastic over it. I have been covering with aluminum foil and in the refrigerator. It works well, but the way you showed it looks much better. Blessings and be safe please.

I did the same thing except I didn't push out the air bubbles. That is where I failed. Now I know what to do. Thank you!!!

Great tip Dianne.  I usually take a palette knife, take the paint off and deposit it on a Tupperware type of container and place in the freezer because I do not always paint the next day and it stays useable for long periods.  Downside is that it takes a lot of time to do that, clean the glass palette and clean thoroughly my brushes.  Wish I wasn't such a neat nik. That is my studio procedure..this will be great for my plein air palette.

I've used a drop of oil of clove in larger amounts of paint to extend drying time.

I like the spray idea. I have tried a dropper with clove oil...and then covering the palette with an air tight framed glass container. All that said, I don't know why a spray bottle with some turp and linseed oil never occurred to me. A dropper puts the oil or turp on one spot...but a spray-mist will get the whole pile of paint. That's what I want. That's a very simple...but very good idea. Thank you.!!

So this is why you can have a lot of paint on your palette. I thought you do 10 videos in one session. 😅 Thanks for this tip!

I know now that you're working with oil paint. Do you have any suggestions for acrylics and keeping them from drying out? I watched the video on value lines and found that very interesting and useful. But acrylics will dry out faster than oil.

What about the paints on the edges of your palate. Can’t put them back in the tube! Does your wrap pull off a lot of paint? My biggest problem is I put out too much paint or not enough because I don’t know how to keep them fresh Do I need to refrigerate them?

Thanks for all great tutos. As a beginner, it helps a lot.

Is there a certain spray bottle you use that won't get gunned up from the oil and solvent?

Thanks for the useful tips. At least one recipe for slow-drying medium I came across adds a percentage (about 10%) of Oil of Cloves in with the linseed oil and solvents, except for use with Titanium White which leaves out the Oil of Cloves. It seems this might be particularly helpful in this case. What do you think about that? I think it may extend the oxidation period for the paints more than just depriving them of atmospheric contact and could supplement the action of the linseed and solvent mixture demonstrated. I'll try it anyway and re-post results when I have them. Thanks for sharing your experience in a most practical and helpful way.

How do you preserve the rest of the paint?

I tried poppy oil and gamsol 50:50 and it too works, but maybe I should not use poppy oil due to dry time? Which is better to use? I also use a stay wet container for studio use.

Is using Poppie Oil ok instead of Linseed Oil?

Grateful if you'd confirm the contents of the 50/50 spray mix - thanks.

Thank you. Does it apply to the acrylics as well?
