3:49 Chris Isaak’s haunting superb voice is so hypnotic in this song and coupled with the most beautiful guitar sound, makes this a favorite song of mine. There are so many different emotions you can feel; from two people being in love, to unrequited love, to falling out of love. It breaks my heart every time I hear it. If you’ve never truly been in love, you won’t understand.

This is the definitive video in my opinion. “Wild At Heart” was an amazingly noir-ish oddball Lynch film. It had the typical wild mix of nostalgia and contemporary. The scene with Sherilynn Fenn is still very haunting.

Was at a Peaches store in MKE ca. 1988 when I spotted the Chris Isaak LP. I just bought it on the cover alone, hoping the despondent-looking guy would have a voice to match the atmospheric cover photo. Was not disappointed in the least. Retro and elegant.
