I had the good fortune to experience the early days of Chris Isaak's band, they played a nightclub in Cotati often in the 1980's, this song is his magnum opus, his great gift to us all. This band does an amazing job with it, really brings the soul, Annalise's voice and expressions are nothing less than perfect. So happy to see this song being embraced by the next generation.

This song is nothing short of a masterpiece. From the first note, it grabs your soul and refuses to let go. The melody is both haunting and triumphant, weaving together with lyrics that are as profound as they are poetic. As a musician I immediately fell in love with Michael Monahan's spectacular syrupy Strat performance, and my comment almost stopped there. However, after listening through more than a few times, each one of them adds a fundamental part which makes this incredible space for the Strat to shine through. Annalise's voice and Cal's bright, spanky acoustic rhythm really solidify this cover as one of my favorites.

As we all watch and listen to this masterpiece I hope everyone appreciates the work that goes into making such a video. The sound engineers, the videographers, getting the lighting just right for the clips, the blending of video to sound and of course the artist themselves. IMY2 and their whole team do such outstanding work and in my humble opinion some of the best on you tube. Thanks IMY2 for this, we all luv you.

I can't lie, I love to have this version on youtube instead of just spotify and other paid platforms that I rarely or never use. Having a video with IMY2 performing is a nice bonus, as the band is a photogenic bunch of lovely people. The guitar work is very authentic, combined with Annalises beautiful voice it gives of the same dreamy vibe as the original. It is a little more smooth and positive, while the original has a harsher melancholic, almost angsty mood to it. Maybe it's the colors contrasting with the original black and white video that Chris Isaak used, maybe it's just my imagination and I'm projecting things that aren't there.

Nonetheless, this cover is amazing. It almost overshadows the release of 'You're Still my Girl', which I've been listening to first, as that version was completely new to me. Amazingly we get two great songs on one day. Hopefully we see that IMY2 original soon on the youtube channel as well. <3
