Sat behind the bench at Australia's 0-1 loss to South Korea in the Asian Cup back in 2015. The number of times Ange lost his cool at a certain number of players was fascinating. We didn't play well that night but I'll never forget his lambasting of Robbie Kruse for living offside.

not only culturally is he close to Celtic, but back in 1984 I saw him play a great game in the NSL grand final 1984, he played an amazing game, we won 2, 0 and became Australian champions, he played alongside Mike Pye and bobby Russel two great Scottish players who were more than his teammates they both were Ange's mentors

Ange is an absolute general. He just happens to have applied it to football managing.

That argument between Craig Foster and Ange on live TV basically damaged Ange’s reputation and made him unemployable in Australia as a young coach but it was also one of those difficult experiences that eventually made him more determined and a better manager.

I want the hun's at Paradise in the draw tonight. We all know how they love playing in front of opposing fans.

I just watched the Australian interview with our commander and chief there and the biggest thing I can take away from it is how excellent the questions were from the Australian media 👏
The meaningless bullshit we have to put up with every week from the Scottish media is just embarrassing.
But never mind poor old us..
What about Ange?
He must be absolutely demented.
He's got so much to give with the right questions
Great channel Hamish 👏
HAIL HAIL 🍀 🍀 🍀 🍀

Hamish, Ange and Craig buried the hatchet previously when he was coaching Brisbane on live tv. Having said that, it was good to see the mutual respect last night.

Stole this comment from the Stan FC interview here in Australia so all credit to them but its so so true;
As a Celtic fan I always want Celtic to win the league. This year I want Ange to win the league.
Speaks volumes.

Top job. Wasn't sure if I would catch this episode. Been busy all day opening mail.

While the tactical specifics of Ange's philosophy may be complex, it's quite simple in broad strokes.

To sum it up: in order to play beautiful football, all 11 men on the pitch, and every man in training/on the bench, must put in hard, ugly, dirty work. There are no Messis or Ronaldos or Ronaldinhos wearing a Celtic crest. We cannot rely upon 1v1 skill in order to perform at our best.

Constant off ball movement; physical challenges; wide angle of vision; quick, crisp passing; relentless pressing; starting attacks quickly; top level conditioning, communication... These are the hallmarks of Ange-ball.

He wasn't seeing it against Wraith Rovers - in the first half, at any rate. I understand why he was frustrated.

Hamish, you are dead on with Starfelt. He and CCV are quick to start attacks, and they are usually sharp with passes

If your interviewing Ange could you squeeze in a question to ask him to explain the sporting landscape in his old town Melbourne and the dynamics and passion for it and how it inspired him, all sports including his support for Carlton

If you want to do a more stable comparison for financials - I would compare to 2019 results. Many corporates are boasting huge % increases year on year 2020-21 but that is par for the course as things open up again. If Celtic back to growth or close to pre-covid numbers is a an indicator on whether or not there is a good plan in place.
