Have you ever dealt with a recruiter? I know that recruiters are FAR from being perfect, in fact some of them can be quite unprofessional, but don’t immediately assume that they are all the same! To this day and age, many candidates think that recruiters work for THEM and that the recruiters’ job is to look for jobs and provide service to candidates. This approach is bound to lead to a negative experience, because Recruiters ALWAYS work for their clients and their companies. So the first advice is accepting that Recruiters don’t owe you anything. It’s not their job to find a perfect role for you. I have received emails and messages from some really disappointed candidates. Telling what a bad experience they had while dealing with recruiters. As I said, some recruiters might indeed be unprofessional, but sometimes it’s the candidate’s expectations which are unreasonable and will of course not be met.

I had recruiter say we got opening for job 5 months later they called me back to say that job is now open However I applied for job on Glassdoor happened to be same job had interview scheduled with hiring manager. Recruiter sent in my resume and hiring manager cancelled the interview saying I am represent my the recruiter company never signed no paperwork with recruiting company. So now I am out of opportunity. Be careful with these recruiters they are in it for the money not for you

Logical advice but if one day the supply and demand is reversed and there are many recruiters but few with my skills the advice would need to be reversed also.

In the meantime, if we can all focus on serving others I think our needs are best met that way.

If the people a recruiter is working with have poor expectations, it is the recruiters fault for not managing these expectations. Admittedly this doesn't excuse being rude or behaving unprofessionally. But it certainly isn't just a candidate problem.
