Anglicans Have the Most Consistent Protestant Ecclesiology

Presby here. Your Absolutely right. I think alot if this is based in this odd American Protestant idea of like a sort of segregation between different traditions. We twnd to ook at it as like a "stick to your own" type of thing. We totally have this idea of the invisible church that all believers are oart of, but we dor some reason dont look at actually fellowshiping with people of other denoms as important. Thankfully, my particular church and denom is really good at being quite eccumenical without demanding that others accept our dogmas, at the same time as not totally compromising our own beliefs.

I love this! So many people out there feel like the true church is a Specific denomination when the true church would be better viewed as a specific group of believers who span all (well… most…) denominations! Love your content, bro.

This is well put. I’m not sure how to send you a pdf, but there’s a good essay from a conference this winter called “The Anglican Way” conference on the reason why the Sacraments themselves are - and must be - the true organ of unity in the Church. Though we regard the primacy of the bishop of Rome, as Anglicans, the bureaucratically elected office of the papacy is not equal to the task of being the organ of the Church’s unity. As a Pentecostal, we're okay with people from other denominations gathering with us because we know they're fellow Christians. There was one time an Anglican gathered with us. In a way, I got influenced by Anglicanism through Thomas Cranmer and even the actor Rowan Atkinson (at least he was raised Anglican) for unintentionally encouraging me to attend church services.

Im a Free Methodist Pastor, and though we are a small branch of Methodism, our tribe is pretty diverse. We have people from every stream of Christianity that have found their home in the Free Methodist Church.

The church I help pastor has people who grew up Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, etc.

I think even the lowest of low churches, like non-denominational churches, are not outside of salvation and can absolutely have a real and true faith and relationship with Christ. However, I do think the lower the church, the lower the ceiling in terms in reaching the fullness of the faith. Maybe that’s ignorant of me, but that’s the realization I’ve come to over the past couple weeks.

Respectfully, Methodist have historically been & are some of the most fairly ecumenical Protestants. Just look at the Methodist societies of Wesleys day and how modern Methodist regularly share fellowship & mission work with other Protestants.

The christian forefathers and theologians who collected your bible, who comprehended the trinity, who explain the two natures of christ in one personhood, and so forth... believed in true presence. Reject innovation and follow the faith of our martyred forefathers. 🙏🙏
