Made an agreement with my child (1st grade) that if she wants to pack lunch she has to pack it and it has to have at least 1 veggie. She's great about every other food but HATES veggies. She'll be picking two vegetables every week when we go grocery shopping to pack in her lunch. Here's hoping she actually eats the veg lol.

Growing up in the 90’s and early 2000’s I got a sandwich for lunch every single day. None of that other hot food in a thermos or anything like that. Maybe a fruit roll up, and goldfish crackers and an apple. It was always usually the exact same thing for years on end
