Cheap Chinese Multimeter gets 20kV+

I picked up a Casio EX-ZR700 and wanted to try out the slow-motion capabilities. I had blown up my cheap Chinese multimeter while trying to light an arc lamp (DC volts stopped working, but everything else worked), so I decided to test it a little at the same time. It "held" 15000 volts through the included cheap leads, but the meter stopped reading correctly after that.

Obviously, don't try to measure these voltage levels with your own meter. And if you have a cheap Chinese meter, don't measure anything over 30 volts or so anyway. I have a Fluke 40kV probe on a Fluke 289 to monitor things behind the camera.

Definitely think it is now rated CatV.
