Yes! A dog is not a purse, you cannot just give it away when you are bored with it. Having a dog is a lifetime commitment!

Our dog was given 6 months to live 5 years ago. We stopped feeding him dog food and put him on keto... He is 21 now...sure. Loss of most hearing and vision but he still guards the house when he is not s!eeping! The giant tumors almost totally gone.

I had a conversation with my amish friends and their dogs live long and don't take their dogs to a vet. They said, no shots, no flee or heartworm meds, just good food and a good life.

Our Maltese lived to 18 years old and we NEVER fed her processed dog food of any sorts!! Brushed her teeth everyday, walked her, played with her, gave her a homemade diet since she was a puppy, with different varieties of protiens ( salmon filets, eggs, ground chicken or chicken breasts, ground beef or roast beef, turkey, lamb, huge variety of veggies and beat roots, sweet potato, fruits that are American Kennel approved 2:1, also supplements for her coat, skin, bones, as well, as wheat grass, certain herbs like rosemary etc....she was a healthy, happy, girl!!

My chiwinnie is 23 years and she eats well like this by my hand. She acts like she is 7 years except her Grey old lady whiskers gives her mature look. She eats really good raw, steamed veggies and loves lady....she is so loved!

I wanted to thank Dr Becker for her beautiful words about the bond between an animal and a human being. I did the best I could for my Cookie the Golden Retriever, and I have no regrets. But the emptiness after losing her is so tremendous that I don't think I will ever be able to be the same me without Cookie. Sending big hugs to all ❤

My dogs are 15 and almost 15. I have been feeding a raw homemade diet for 13 years. They are still very healthy.

You know i have to disagree about the rehoming and keeping your pet for life. Our family got a shelter dog at 4 years old and she has made our family so happy. We are grateful to the lady who chose to give her up because we got a gift of love we never knew we needed.

As a Medical Biochemist, I choose to feed my dog raw steak, cooked chicken, raw venison ONLY. No kibble. Treats are rawhide chews, veggie sticks, homemade cheese cookies. At the age of five, new Vet insisted she come in to get her teeth done. Took her for check up and Vet was perplexed "She's five? She's more like a two year old!" . No dental needed.

I love Dr Becker. I have referred many to her videos. My dogs have been on a balanced homemade meals for many years. I do put dry food down for them to eat in between if they get hungry. We had a pet supply franchise, which I managed. We sold a “lot” of dry dog food. There are many who will not do anything else, and some who simply cannot afford to do anything else. However, I always encouraged my customers to add a healthy home cooked meal to their Diet regimen. We also sold raw and freeze dried. Plus, most people gave their dogs the same dry food every day, always. That broke my heart. My dogs have always had variety. Humans eat variety, they wouldn’t to eat the same thing every meal, so why would a dog enjoy it?
Thank you for this video. I hope millions watch it.

My dog was spilling blood & I started cooking all her meals: Found a video that showed what to do...cooked veggies & added meat, fish, rice, oats, egg. Never had a problem again.

I am reading Forever dog right now. It’s absolutely wonderful and a real eye opener. My furry son died 2 weeks ago today. It’s been so devastating and my coping abilities have gone out the window. I’m so absorbed in this book so much that it’s hard to put down. I’ve been highlighting in it so I have it as a reference book. I’ve also bought it for 2 friends already and will prob buy more. Thank you so much for this book and the extensive time put into it. I already plan to get the next book that comes out in May 2024 also.

I love listening to Dr Becker. What she said at the end regarding loss, apart from not doing anything we might regret once we lose our dogs, it's also great to give our dogs a good life, because the good memories we create will bring a smile and often soften the pain of the loss we inevitably have to go through.

I had dogs live over 18 years old and they ate mostly fresh food from our table because I grew up on a farm, some raw some cooked rarely had kibble.

I have to admit after watching this podcast that that I feel so guilty not providing a healthier environment to all my past rescued furbabies😪 No matter how much money I spent on veterinarian bills I was unable to save them and all due to misinformation and lack of knowledge. Sadly pets do not come with an owner manual. I'm hoping that after watching this podcast and when I'm over my mourning/guilt that I'll be better equipped to provide another rescue with a healthier living environment and a long life. Meanwhile, I will be sharing this informative podcast. Thank you Dr. Becker.

Amen, I love her commitment to her pups or animals. I agree with her, you don't bring an animal in your life if you are struggling to take care of yourself & feed yourself. Judge if you will but it's cruel to not be able to feed your pet or to re-home while we are alive. If I die, that's my only exception. Animals deserve us for their whole life. Zero exceptions. Thank you for this video ❤️
