The Life and Tragic Ending of Yma Sumac
Yma Sumac was born on September 13, 1922, in Callao, Lima, Peru.
A singer with an amazing four-octave range, Yma Sumac was said to have been a descendant of Inca kings, an Incan princess that was one of the Golden Virgins. Her offbeat stylings became a phenomenon of early-'50s pop music.

HA! Please! Yma Sumac died in her beloved Hollywood with millions of dollars, finally got a well deserved apology from Peru who never really appreciated her (two years before her passing), and was in a beautiful private room with double doors and a huge backyard of her own, an adoring personal assistant who was like a grandson to her, and 24 hour special caregivers who tended to her every need. We should all be so lucky to have such a "sad" ending. It should be noted that several of the horrifyingly low quality images in this video are not Public Domain...but they're such bad quality, they are not worth reporting. The biographical aspect of this video is roughly 40% correct. About 80 of the famous people in your past videos are living very well, are filthy rich, and are loved by millions worldwide. Nothing sad about them. At least 3 photos herein are not Yma Sumac at all, but are Ali McGregor and a drag queen.

This video is a joke. She did not have a sad life and specially not a sad ending. You should stop with the click bait titles.

You are WRONG: Yma Sumac DID NOT have a sad ending. She was very well loved and admired and hailed as the best singer of all times. So, your title is totally alien to the reality.

I thought the guy was suddenly going to start singing "YMCA". Why, why, why, YMA? How ignorant can this guy be? And, good heavens, what a shoddy documentary!

Her first name is pronounced EEma, not Y M A.

I think there's a HUGE mistake. The video says "she was a sixth child of an Indian mother & Indian Spanish Father?? Are you sure it's INDIAN or INDIE??

Rumor has it that Yma Sumac was actually Amy Camus who was a jewish girl from Brooklyn and was an elaborate showbiz construct.

I can't believe the lack of creativity in a title. But you probably used it as a clickbait. For your information, beloved Yma Sumac DID NOT, I repeat, DID NOT, (did you get it by now?) have a sad ending. She was a renowned artist in Hollywood and in her country of origin, which she loved so much, Peru, in Russia where she is still remembered, and internationally. Don't dare to publish such an ignorant post. THUMBS

Shouldn't that be Y.M.C.A Sumac?

Also, for me Lisa Gerrard (Dead can Dance etc.) is definitely a contemporary competitor.
