Most Viral Foundation Routine… by Meredith Duxbury

Meredith Duxbury is a massive TikTok influencer. She is best known for THE Viral Foundation Routine. So, of course, people are trying it and showing their results in different lighting. Meredith mixes at least 10 pumps of foundation with the back of a makeup brush and then lathers her face with the foundation mixture to start her routine. After she puts on the rest of the makeup on her thick canvas of foundation. This foundation routine just sounds wrong. How long can this makeup last through out the day, or how does it look right after application, or how does your skin feel after this routine… I’m going to try Meredith Duxbury’s foundation method and answer some of these question, and I’m going to have fun with this. Let’s do it!

Great, honest review. Thank you. I’m a professional SFX make up artist, who is trained in all genres. I can absolutely tell you that anyone who says this is a viable make up application, is either getting paid to do so through sponsorship, or exposure. I tried it, even though I knew it was going to be a disaster. The only reason that it turns out somewhat on camera, is due to lighting and filters, Meredith also blots the heck of it out with her fresh, absorbent sponge. Absolute waste of money, settles in your lines of your face, and in real life looks like you could scrape it off with a trowel. Please don’t waste your money on this ridiculous trend. The only place I would wear this is on a stage… maybe.

I feel like Meredith must be sponsored by all the foundation industry. You would go through a bottle a week! I will stick to the more natural look. 🙃

I used to wear my makeup this heavy EVERY SINGLE DAY. In high school and my early 20s. I’m 28 now and now I wear no makeup any day lol and surprisingly, I have more confidence now!

I wish someone would challenge Meredith to use 5 pumps and see if she gets the same results. Also I would like to see her squeeze her beauty blender after she's done.

When I learned that I was gonna need 5-6 pumps of my IT foundation with SPF 50 to get the SPF 50 protection, I IMMEDIATELY started looking for a light weight, stand alone, SPF. There is NO way I could tolerate having 5-6 pumps of foundation on my face, much less 10!! I commend you for making it as long as you did.

This looks like the look we had back in the '80's and I was in Theater.

Back in the OLDEN days we used to wear a makeup called “ Pan Stick”….. it’s only now after your 10 pumps that I realize what we used to look like- yikes! I must say, tho, that your finished look was STUNNING!!! I would seriously keep that in your back pocket for very special occasions! Thanks once again for taking one for the team!❤️

I can’t even imagine what it feels like to put on that much foundation I don’t know how she does it?

In the mid 90s, I had a photo shoot at Glamour Shots. When you said the makeup felt like a mask, that is exactly how I felt!!! My husband thought I looked gorgeous, but it was SOO heavy!!! We went out to eat after the shoot and I really felt that everyone was staring at me because it was sooo much!!! The pictures turned out really great, but I COULDN’T WAIT until that makeup was off!!! Sooo glad I was able to do that for my hubby but sooo miserable wearing that much makeup!!! Btw, you looked amazing looked GORGEOUS and ready for your own Glamour Shots!!!! Thank you for doing this!!

This was truly entertaining. The most enjoyable aspect was the sense of relief I felt for you once your skin was back to clean & dewy. I know your skin couldn’t breathe! Thanks for trying this look & sharing! 🥰

I think we all knew by the title “10 pumps” there was no way this would end good🤣

I didn’t see the texture that you saw but the makeup did come across very heavy. Reminds me of theatre or stage makeup. I would be concerned about transferring onto other things if I wore this everyday. Thanks for experimenting with us!

Soph, another Content Creator, did this, and her results were the same as yours. She did not like it at all! 😄 You're such a sport for doing this! My face would be full of Acne if I did this. I bet, she gets alot of Foundations, to try out. Crazy! 😆

You really did an amazing job at making it look flawless! Thank God that you’re beautiful enough without it and don’t need it!😊

As my daddy used to say, ‘makeup slapped on’, in belfast Norn Iron (Northern Ireland) Looks lovely on you, but ‘could scrape it off with a trowel’😆. For anyone that wears that much, thats some work you give yourself. Your barely there makeup is the most beautiful ❤️

I’m late to this video but wanted to add, she did a q&a & to no one’s surprise she was a business/ marketing major. It’s a schtick, it’s made her popular & noticed, made her money & probably somewhat famous. All that being said, I seriously doubt that she goes out like this daily or at all. Her skin is flawless before makeup & I don’t think that would be maintained if this were her daily wear makeup. It’s camera makeup.

I honestly find it funny how this became a big trend simply because of Meredith. This is how "heavy" makeup has been applied for years, in movies, TV, theater, model photoshoots, portraits, etc. for decades. It's not how most people wear foundation every day. I think it became more popular recently because on camera, in certain light and camera quality, it makes you look flawless without using a filter. I've seen some women wear their makeup like this in college every day, as well as a lot of older women with a lot of money to spend on makeup trying to hide their "flaws" with just a crap ton of makeup, also a lot of waitresses I've seen wear it like this. Basically it's how you wear your makeup when you feel you need to have a completely blank slate and hide every flaw and blemish, most of us don't care enough to wear it like this, but in some professions and situations when you feel the need to look this flawless for a short amount of time, it's the best method.
